Hole 1
This is your courage building hole. Go for it! Downwind par 5 wide-open fairway for the tee shot. Play conservative on the second shot, the fairway starts to narrow around 100 yards out. |
Hole 2
Now decide to play it safe or not? Slight dogleg right par 4, favour the left side of the fairway. The long ball hitter can carry the bunker on the right side, but beware of the natural coral rock. |
Hole 3
Go ahead, be brave. Favour the right side of the green on this par 3. The trade winds will move the ball right to left. |
Hole 4
Now the fun begins – choose bunkers, dessert or fairway? Going into the wind, aim for the left side of the fairway off the tee. This will allow you to have a better angle into the green for your second shot. |
Hole 5
Okay, hit your best drive and end shorter than expected. The shortest par 4 on the golf course. Anything hit at the right hand bunker may be in trouble, favour the left side of the fairway. |
Hole 6
Decision time, left is trouble, right is long – what will you decide? Long dogleg left par 4! Only the long ball hitter can carry the corner. |
Hole 7
Choose club selection carefully to consider distance and the right to left drift on this hole. Plan ahead for the wind. The breeze off the California Dunes can make this par 3 hole difficult, favour the right side. |
Hole 8
Now your chance to head back into the winds. Good luck. Favour the left side of the fairway for your tee shot. There is a large bunker guarding the middle of the green so the second shot needs to be positioned correctly. |
Hole 9
Trouble presents itself left or right – straight is the only option here. You must be careful off the tee, this par 4 offers plenty of bunkers guarding your landing area. The second shot is uphill to a green that is nestled between grassy knolls, so remember to take more club. |
Hole 10
Robert, what have you done? Such a narrow fairway? Choose your shot carefully. Short par 4, slight dogleg right, designed to let the wind carry your shot towards the green. |
Hole 11
Let it loose but stay on the fairway here. Aim your tee shot left as the fairway slopes towards the desert transition area on the right. On your approach, short is better than long. |
Hole 12
Let it loose but stay on the fairway here. Aim your tee shot left as the fairway slopes towards the desert transition area on the right. On your approach, short is better than long. |
Hole 13
A great stroke hole – if you can judge the wind you can land pin high for a birdie putt. Aim left as the wind will take your shot to the right. Do not be afraid to be long as the front greenside bunkers are pretty, but numerous. |
Hole 14
Hero or zero hole. #1handicap hole where you can go from hero to zero in a stroke notice. Double fairway, dogleg left par 5. The placement of your second shot is key, as you will find the left side all the way to the green heavily guarded by bunkers. |
Hole 15
The deception hole – long left appears deceptive than going for the flag – you choose but don’t be disappointed. A spectacular par 3. A demanding tee shot that requires perfection. There is more room left than there seems to be. |
Hole 16
Kick it up – some have driven the green. What game did you bring today? Aim your tee shot down the middle of the fairway as a row of bunkers on the right side of the fairway catches even the best of drives on this par 4. |
Hole 17
Go ahead, pick your club – carefully depending on wind. Club selection on this par 3 is difficult and crucial. Not much room for error, long or short. |
Hole 18
What to consider – downhill or uphill? How about both to make it to the green in regulation. No worries, a beverage at the 19th hole is near. A straight drive is a must on this uphill, but downwind par 4. Make sure to land your approach shot just short of the green, as the wind will carry your ball towards the hole. |
